That'll be a great 6 days in that unit, especially since you will be the only one in there. Can't beat zero hunting pressure.

Well, made the first trip over to scout and found some really good areas.  Thanks to the guys who have given some pointers.  I was able to see a few deer, no bucks, but did run into 3 bears and one was a absolute stud.  Unfortunately I already have my eastern Washington bear for the year.  I drew a Wenaha spring bear this year.  Tons of grouse also....over 30 on the first day and 11 the second day.  Couldn't glass a long ways off due to the smoke, but definitely got a good lay of the land.  Next trip is already scheduled and can't wait.  I'm going to bring my 12 year old and see if I can find him a bear!!!  Love the process of these draws and how the hunt starts when you see "Selected".

Well it is almost time to go hunting!!!  I made multiple trips over this summer and with the help from a couple guys on here (Thanks fellas), I got some general areas to look into and got some permission to hunt some private land.  Overall the deer numbers weren't that great during the summer, but that was to be expected.  I did see a ton of bears though and almost got my 12 year old a bear, but the bear just didn't want to let us get as close as we wanted.  In total I saw 7 bears over the summer and since I already shot by eastern wa bear I couldn't pull the trigger myself.  I'll be back though!!!
 
Anyways, the boot leather has been burned and I have a good idea where I want to spend the majority of my time.  I was over this last weekend and saw a total of 11 bucks and only one being a decent 4x4.  They were definitely running the does, but we still saw a hand full of does that didn't have any bucks with them, so hopefully a big boy will move in and show himself when it's my turn.  There is very little snow in the unit and I'm hoping the big bucks come down, but if not the hunt will still be an adventure.  I will be in my trailer at Lake Chelan ST Pk and driving a red crew cab f250, so if your up there and see me or want to stop by for a beer, i'll have them on ice.
