Teanaway archery elk
« on: June 21, 2018, 08:50:13 PM »
My brother finally drew a Teanaway tag with 13 points and hoping to dig up a little info for him. He drew a late archery tag there the last year they had it and he didn't connect but we saw some toads. We are familiar with the Swauk Prairie area and the Teanaway road areas. We spent a little time up the golf course road as well. I'm gonna be giving him a hand scouting, calling and hopefully packing. Anybody have any info they are willing to share? Hopefully get him a bull there in the first week or so so I can head to Idaho elk hunting for the second week.

There's a bull or two around that are worthy.

This area around cle elum has had some nice bulls come out of it. Best of luck picking 1 out. I got to see 1 in person taken from north of cle elum somewhere and he was a beast with a club!

Sounds like you have spots picked out I would go. Might take some effort getting into public lands where the big boys live.

Finally made it over there to set up some cams this weekend and hoping to make it back on the fourth to set up some more. Didn't find much for rubs and wallows, stuff that shows they are there in Sept. Good times and we will get them dialed in.

With it being open for antlerless the entire season I'm guessing you're going to have a ton of people to deal with that first week.

Got this on cam.  Any guess on a score and is it a first day shooter?  Bottoms look really good on it but hard to tell what's up top.

Are you talking about the hunter being a beast and he got the elk with a club?

Great hunt with close encounters, missed shots or passed bulls every day. He was targeting a couple herd bulls and couldn't quite seal the deal on them. Was tons of fun calling for him and hope I draw the tag next year. Lots of hiking involved, we averaged about 18 miles a day according to On X.
