I've spent a few days on the mountain and i'm having the time of my life.  There are tons of rams up there, i've saw a few that look decent to me but i'll need several more trips to get a solid feel for what's truly a decent ram. I told my wife she would have to put life on hold this summer until this hunt is over...she's been a real trooper and says she supports me all the way...we'll see if she can sustain that sentiment through August.

Any feedback on this ram, here are a couple angles of him? I've now been over everyweekend since I drew my tag and i'm finding a few rams of this caliber but I don't think i've found anything much larger yet.  Most days it's been so windy it's tough to use the phone scope so I don't have as many pictures as I would like.  I'm blown away at the number of rams i'm seeing, this is going to be a great hunt.  I want to be patient but I also don't want to pass on a solid ram for this unit so i'm going to look at as many rams as possible before my hunt in hopes of painting that a clear mental picture.

Were you able to tell how old he is? picture is too blurry to count the growth rings......Looks like a pretty good ram for Clemens but it would be nice to see a picture from the front also.

Good luck!!

I’m not a sheep guy so definitely not an expert on the difference between a 165” ram and a 175” ram. I would be more of a “that’s big enough guy”. If you have seen three or four about that size I wouldn’t get hung up on shooting the biggest of the four, I would shoot the one that you like and hopefully is giving you the best shot opportunity.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I tried posting a pic of a ram that I saw last December, but the pic must be too large. I think it’s the same ram. I thought he was 14 x 32 which puts him in the upper 150’s. I like the way he flairs out.

We saw two rams that were a little better than him, but not much better.

Good luck!

Looks like a shooter to me, but then again I've never hunted sheep. I think it's all up to you and what you are looking for in the hunt and that ram appears to be a good representation of a mature sheep.

 :yeah: that's an any day shooter for that unit. I've got 1 from there years ago and that's a good representation of that unit. Take him before you lose the opportunity.

I agree with the last post, that's a solid clemans ram and one that someone should be happy with in that unit. you might find something a little bigger, but you aren't going to find anything significantly larger than that.

@coachcw

@huntnphool

Looks like a shooter ram to me, but I'm not a sheep guy.

started to broom off the right side at little, but just the tip prob 3-4 inches, and you get to see the beginning of the flare. I hunted Lincoln cliffs and I set my goal for one not broomed and flared, even if a broomed ram was bigger and more mature, but that ram looks like a shooter to me. I would def take a look online at sheep mounts and you will gain an opinion on looks, (you will be looking at him forever on your wall) so make sure you shoot one YOU like to look at (tipped and flared but maybe not as much mass or an old broken broomed warrior, both have their perks), not what everyone else thinks,  my opinion, is  :hunter:
