Mt Spokane North A Bull Moose Tag
« on: June 21, 2018, 11:02:25 PM »
Got lucky and pulled a tag. Plan on heading over to scout and talk with local bio’s. I did a quick search and it sounds like a good idea to get some access through the timber companies. Any other recommendations or tips would be appreciated from those who have done this hunt or spent time in the unit. I plan on scouting and spending at least a week hunting, likely in November due to a trip planned in early October in another state. Congrats to all who drew tags.

I’ve had the cow tag there. My advice is make this your priority! It’s a great area. PM me if you have any questions.

I had the cow tag in there a couple years ago.  Buy the IEP (Inland Empire Paper) permit first off.  That will give you basically the only drivable access in the entire unit.  There is no National Forest in there.  Some state land that is gated but mostly timber and IEP land.  I killed my cow on the IEP land south of Blanchard road.  PM me if you want more details.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Thanks for all of the replies. I will pm some of you for further info. Would early October be better than late November? I might be able to hunt a week when it first opens. Hopefully the bulls would be rutting?

I'd go the first week of the season to catch the rut, and plan to make another trip later if needed.

 How is your hunt going?
