Monster Nontypical Blacktail...

Look at the size of this blacktail.  The guy who owned the property gave me permission to put my cameras up and told me he had some big deer but I was not expecting this.  Pictures taken at the end of June so this deer had plenty of growing left.  Wasn't able to hunt him but can not imagine how big he got.  Had 2 cameras only 75 yards apart and got nearly 30 pictures of him along with a forkened horn and a damaged 4x2, all of which were daylight.

Yep, we need more pics!  Hope you get a poke at him this year!  Kind of an odd configuration for a blackie, is he in SW WA?  The reason I ask is he looks like a lot of buck that I have seen close to the Columbia with a little bit of whitetail in them, hence the eyeguards and points off of main beams.

It does indeed have the whitetail antler configuration and big ol' eyeguards. It would be great if you could post s'more pics so we could look him over. For sure a big'en.

That one big point is not an eye guard it is another beam.  I will post another picture or two when I upload them.  And yes it is all blacktail.  I know that the antlers may resemble a whitetail but I am telling you that this is all blacktail.  I am sworn to secrecy but I will say that this buck is within 30 miles of Mt St. Helens.

He does have that whitetail characteristic to him, but I watched a big 4-point buck a few years back in Capitol Forest with the exact same antler configuration on one side (minus the extra beam at the base). Can't wait to see some more pics of furbearer's buck.

Here are a couple of more pic of the big boy.  One was taken with my other camera that I had out.  I like this one because you can really see how tall he is and he is with the busted up 4x 2.  The other one is a better angle to see that nontypical beam coming off the base of his horn.  Hope you guys and gals like these.  The date on the one were he is walking away is not right, i forgot to set it.  They were taken the exact same dates.
