So at this point i planned to have many many more trips over the mountains to scout and well we all know why i haven't been over lately. Little bummed i have been doing most of my scouting on line with a birds eye view. I just got done reading an 18 page thread about this hunt from 2013. i really cant believe i read all 18 pages but after page 4 i was making popcorn and forgot all about my hunt as that was to good LOL. Glad i have all 20 days off so i can use the first week to scout the draws i have been planing to hunt.

Might head over in the general season to scout areas just not sure i want to experience the chit show. Whats your thoughts.

No need to waste the fuel with that tag in your pocket. :twocents:

When I had the tag in 2016 I spent a couple days during modern firearm driving around to get to know the area (never been there before) and best advice I will give is find the Does during that time and go back about two or more weeks later  :twocents:

If you "Scout" in September or October, you are learning roads and the country.  Don't expect to see that many deer or bucks.  The Chelan County heard is at least 80% migratory so they spend all summer back in the Cascades where the browse is best.  They will arrive when the does comes in season (migrate earlier) and the high country snow encourages them to move down valley.
If snow arrives late expect the big bucks to be at the western end of 247 and if we get a lot of snow hunt the eastern end even the breaks above the Columbia.

Im getting exited. I was literally remembering sitting at my desk waiting for a the results to come out. searching every way possible for a back door result. finally i found something that looked promising so i instantly reached out to my buddy and had him check his. He stated that it was looking like he drew quality bull and mine was showing quality deer. At this point we were confident we had our tags. As soon as the results were there i reached out again saying it was right and I drew the Entiat tag. He looked real quick and responded with holy *censored* i got the !@#$$% tag. (Sorry got permission to post the pic just not the area). Super stoked i reached out to my cousin and he replied with i also got a Quality bull permit for @#$%^ unit. As i have been waiting for my hunt to start they left for theirs. I would say opening weekend treated them great. Im more excited for my hunt now than ever. Here is their bulls from last weekend.

Let me know if you can make it i will be camping up mud creek if the spot is open when i get there stay straight once the gravel starts ill be the first camp on the left before you get to the end if the large field on the right. If that spot is taken then take the first left just past the field and i will be camped to the right

That area has been burned, you'll have to get up above the gravel pit to get out of the burn.

Good luck!

Still doing rehab, might be over by opening weekend.

I know it burned up Potato Creek a ways i didn't think it made it all the way down to Mud Creek, With that said i haven't been over since the fire started so any and all input on what actually burned ease of the river would be helpful. all i have to go on is what i see on OnX Maps.

That area didn't burn. We were up there earlier this year. The first turn left after the pavement just past that house and the cattle guard was shut down for the burn.
