Day 4 is when my hunt ended. Again i probably could have held out for a larger buck. There was no real weather in the forecast and when you find the one you want you just know. There isnt a single regret in my body for harvesting this buck with great people. Like i said we do this for way more than the kill and i had a great time even though it was only 4 days. seen over 200 deer 30 to 40 bucks passed 4 bucks that would make any hunter with a general tag ecstatic and made some good memories i will be talking about for years. We found him bedded with some does mid day after seeing many other deer and some smaller bucks. We watched him for a few minutes trying to decide if i should shoot or not when a doe had enough and decided she was done. He wasnt going to let her walk off alone and got up to follow. Thats when i said im taking him. one shot and down he went. If you have never hunted rutting mule deer your missing out. This was an experience i cant wait to do again.
Remember that buck is climbing that Mt. every day!

Nice job on a great buck. It’s a special place up there with a tag.

Nothing wrong with that buck at all throttlejocky, I’ve been following this just to see the outcome, I’d be happy to hang a tag on that buck ay day of the week, glad to hear you got it done, hopefully here in a couple weeks I’ll be able to get it done with my late archery tag. Congrats
