How wide is that sucker Grundy?

That other one you left living looks like a nice one too!
Man I want to hunt them!
48 inches. The other one was very similar but had triple eye guards. He's only alive because it was 2 days before season when I saw him.

Makes alot more sense now, was trying to come up with a reason why that first one didnt hit the ground!

This camera I believe I have a picture of a small wolf. There is a picture of a little buck for comparison.

The trip started with my dad waking me up at 3 am Friday morning. A quick pot of coffee and we were on the road heading towards Unit 111. We made good time and got to our camp site around 10:30 am. We set up camp and relaxed as we waited for a couple buddies to show up. Once they showed up and got settled in we went for an evening drive. We didn't see much but I got to show them the main area we would be focusing on. Although we did find a calf moose carcass. Saturday morning we headed out in the same area and came across a shooter bull with a cow. He had good palms and triple eye guards on one side. He definitely would be dead if it were season. About 15 minutes later we had a wolf cross the road in front of us. He stopped on a spur road long enough for us to get a good look at him and then he was gone. He was huge. It was also pretty close to the trail camera that I think I got a picture of a wolf on. After that we shot a couple grouse and then went to check my cameras. Near one of the cameras (the one near where we saw the wolf) we found a dead bull moose. Judging by what was left of his antlers he was probably a 1.5 year old. After that we checked another camera and found that I had pictures of bull moose and one was for sure a shooter. So far the first full day of scouting was a success. We even saw 17 deer that day. Towards evening one of my dads brakes started squealing and we figured there was a rock stuck in it. Sunday morning we went to the same area. By now the squealing was real bad and turning to grinding. We did see a small bull moose but then headed back to camp. My dad and his buddy headed to Colville to see if there was any shops open on Sunday. Meanwhile me and my other buddy went and checked out a different part of the unit. We found lots of moose sign but no moose. We headed back to camp to check on my dad. They were there and said nothing was open except the parts shop. So they bought the parts and tools and we ended up fixing the brake in camp. It turned out the brake cylinder had got stuck out. We went out that evening in better spirits and a sense of relief.  We ended up seeing 4 deer but no moose. Monday morning we woke up and it was game time! No more waiting. No more scouting! It was finally here. We head out to where we have bean seeing most of the moose. It is dead. we are not seeing anything. Then we see a truck parked right where we saw the big bull Saturday. I'm starting to get nervous. We go out into a clearcut and there were three guys already posted up where I had seen a couple smaller bulls. Turns out they were the antlerless moose tag holders. so we drive on a little ways and a bear runs out in front of us and gets our blood pumping. We decide to check out another spot and as we are driving up there my buddy yells BIG BULL! STOP! I was already out of the truck before my dad could stop and I was loading my rifle. As soon as I saw the bull I knew he was a shooter. I shot and he started walking off. I knew I hit him good but now I'm really nervous and go running after him. It was pretty thick and I could only get glimpses of him. Finally he stopped and I shot and he dropped. It turned out my first shot was fatal. He was double lunged. Now the work begins. Thank god for haywire. We were able to get him to the road fairly quickly. Then my dad and his buddy went and got the trailer and the quad. We had to use the winch on the quad to drag the bull up on the trailer. We took him back to camp  and got the hide of and meat hung, cleaned and trimmed. With that done it was time to relax and celebrate!

Congrats!! I was heading to Spokane this morning, and I think saw you heading west on I 90, about 20 miles west of Ritzville. Looking at your pics that show your truck and quad, had to be you. Good work!!
Yep. Probably us.
