If I’m back you can hunt my property in 342. Usually a few cows to be found. Have a tree to hang and butcher if needed

Had the chance to get daughter out to shoot a little longer distance over the weekend.  Set up a few paper plates out at 200yds and she hits them solidly. Rocks blew the plate apart in pic but she's pointing to bullet hole.

Still on the hunt.  Only seen 2 elk where we could hunt.  Thinking about making a move.

Keep at it D!  It's only gonna get better as the week progresses.  Wenas area is pretty slim pickings after two solid months of hunting. It is a small resident herd so once it gets beat up and shot out there just isn't a lot around until there's some weather in the higher elevations and then they start pouring in there. Don't discount the sage country
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

Easy peasy...... head over to Mud Lake area below Clemons MT off Hwy 410.

May have to access it my Clemons MT if they didn't open the road crom 410.

OR

Hunt the 1711, off the 1701 just past the private property. Lots of deer, if you drive the road and don't see deer, walk parallel to the road 50 yards into the trees and you'll see deer.

She is after Elks gasman  :chuckle:

Good luck D
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: sorry, don't know what I was thinking....... :bash:

But the same hold true for elk in the Mud Lake area
There is an overlook towards the end of the 1711 where you can overlook the area below Clemons MT.

Elk will feed on the private property below, and bed on the south slope of Clemons. We hunted that area when my dad drew Disabled Hunter cow tag for that area a few years ago.  Got his one and only elk in his life over there.
