Cleman Mt Ewe Sheep
« on: June 28, 2018, 08:26:24 PM »
Would any of you Guys that know gmu346 and gmu south of wenas crk. give me your opinion of how hard it is to find a Ewe sheep.I drew the tag,but have a Quality Bull tag that has my priority. There are quite a few ewe tags this year and I do not know if I should buy the $330 tag or not.
 Thanks,
 Dave

You won't have a problem finding them. Your hunt will be over in one day. Still not sure I'd spend the $330, though.   :o

Not a whole lot of meat on those Ewes for sure, maybe the same as a small spike buck.

Might be a fun experience though, and possibly your only chance to ever hunt bighorn sheep.

You could probably just drive through in the morning and get one out of the window in about 5 minutes  :chuckle:

Like Bobcat said, this will be the only Bighorn hunting I will ever get to do,so I better borrow $330 and get ready to get after them.

Should be easy as the others have said. I drew the November tag and briefly wrestled with the same idea of not waisting the time or money on it. I came to the same realization that Bobcat stated knowing this will probably be the only sheep hunt that I get in my life. Good luck and hopefully you make the most out of the opportunity.

Don't want to be "that guy" and maybe I'm stating the obvious, but this is why I just don't apply for those tags. I don't want to shoot a ewe sheep bad enough to spend $330 on it. If you're in the same boat as me, I'd suggest not applying. There are plenty of people who do want that opportunity.

(And just to be clear, I don't specifically mean Bobcat. I just mean in general)

I applied for ewe sheep this year for the first time ever, but I applied as a partner with my 12 year old daughter, to try to give her a better chance of drawing the tag. She didn't have any points but with my points we were in the draw with eight. The cost for a kid to purchase the tag is only $125. I think they should all go to kids.

I apply for this hunt because I want a ewe sheep to go with my ram when I get drawn.  Side by side full mount of both.  :chuckle:
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
