Overnight soak in two pots gave up 9 fat fat keepers in 8-2. Tide did not help and blanked on keepers in my few sets this am. No worries. Tell you what friends and neighbors...  dining on crab cakes, cold salmon salad and ritz.... think a chunky tuna salad with fresh salmon.....and thanks to my good friend @Goldeneye some elk backstraps seared on the grill then cooked to a juicy medium I am a content man. Got a cold IPA and a fire in the pit. Even the pup got some diced elk in her bowl.

Nice.  I let the crazies have their opening day in the sun on the weekend when it happens.  Besides, my first mate is missing.  Not really missing, just tending family matters back in MI.  Will be out next week hopefully.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

I usually only check mine twice per day anymore.  Pull and re-bait once first thing in the morning, then again last thing in the evening before dark.  I used to sit over them and watch them but stopped doing so a while back.  I have had two pots go missing in the last 3 years.  One I am fairly sure was "acquired" by someone who needed it more than I did.  The second one was a neighbors that came crabbing with me.  Not sure what happened to that one, it could have floated off due to not enough weight or it could have been stolen as well.  For me the overall risk is worth not having to sit on them all day while they are out.

We did pretty well out of pleasant harbor by brinnon last Sunday, took 17 home, over 100 steamers and ton of oysters!  We used chicken in our pots, works good.

One would think that there would be at least one legal dungie in that pot but no, female, short, soft, all went back except for one that fed the sneaky seal that hid under the boat.  :o

Just got back from Seabeck area. Ran 4 pots for about 4 hours and caught, I dunno, maybe 10,000 females and undersized males. There were two barely legal males so at least  I wasnt skunked. My guess is that the canal is being hammered because all the South Sound folks need a place to go and the Canal is ground zero.

If you are getting only females and sublegals, you should move.

We had 18 keepers over 1.5 days last week in 8-2. Dropped from kayaks, about 10hrs first day netted 8, 6hrs second day and had to throw 2 keepers back.
