Sounds like these bullets will start rolling out in a couple weeks. I'm not in a big rush since I still haven't figured out what to build but I've got it narrowed down to the 25x47 Lapua, 25/6.5 PRC or a 25/300 PRC. I've got short actions with .473 and .532 bolt faces and a long action .532 bolt face to work with. The guys at HD Custom Rifles have a 25x47 Lapua reamer and I would have to have the other two made. These are the real decisions that keep me up at night. :chuckle:

That 25/300 prc would definitely be a speed demon.

Since you mentioned you have a mag bolt face LA to work with you could build a 25-7mm Blaser Mag.  I could send you some 7mm Blaser cases to play with if you'd like.  Case capacity is right around 84gr of water.

The cases are a little shorter but fatter than a 7mm Rem mag so regardless of the bullet, length won't be an issue.  They're non belted cases as well.

That's an interesting case to work off of, I always forget about that one. It would probably give a couple grains more usable capacity than the 257 Weatherby loaded to the same OAL.

It would be pretty similar to the 257 Weatherby but I think the case design is better with the Blaser and your OAL would definitely be shorter.  The case capacities are nearly the same but the Blaser case is 200 thou shorter than the Weatherby case is.  The OAL, shooting the 180 Bergers, in my 7mm Blaser is well under 3.300

Like I said, if you'd like a some cases to mess around with, shoot me a PM with how many you want, where to send them, and I'll get some headed your way.

I always thought a 270 Blaser Mag shooting something like the 170 Bergers would be kind of fun but the thought of only having one decent BC 270 bullet has always made me shy away from that project.

I got a notice yesterday that the bullets I had preordered just shipped. Lost my “Go” gauge for my wildcat reamer I plan on using to chamber a rifle for this bullet. So I’m waiting on PTG to get the “Go” gauge to me.

That should set the whole project back 6-8 weeks with PTGs turnaround on custom orders. :chuckle:

I realized I had lost it several months ago and ordered a new one 7 or 8 weeks back. I should  have it by Christmas or so. :chuckle:

I was a little surprised that the guys at BlackJack were so slow to come out and say that Sierra was making them. It seems like that that would have been a great selling point from the start.

:yeah: it would show that they are being made by an experienced and quality maker and not just some dude who got a new bullet machine.
I wonder how much of this type of arrangement goes on the industry?
Also wonder if Sierra will make their own quarter bore match king also?
