Wouldn’t it be easiest to make it so we had to take the test before we could buy a bear tag? That way, a guy can’t have a bear tag without having taken and passed the test.
Quote from: bearpaw on July 04, 2018, 10:06:45 AMI completely agree with requiring the training to keep hunters from accidentally shooting a grizzly, I've advocated years for this. But, I had missed the part that you must carry proof of passing. How stupid is that, this is the digital age, the endorsement should show on your license. Any warden can easily look at your online profile and check too, or hasn't WDFW figured out how to do that? One more reason to be disgusted with WDFW, they can't do anything the smart and easy way! I don't disagree with the proof on the license part. But as far as checking it on the computer, the computers in their trucks are based off cell service. No cell service = a brick in the truck.

They do it in Montana don’t they? Seems like the test is easy peasy.
Anyone else having issues finding the test itself? I can find the bear identification program page but can’t seem to find the link to the test. On the right hand side I see the info about the test being available after July 1st but no visible link. Am I missing something? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Is this a new thing? I don't remember seeing it last year. Then again, I only get a bear tag just incase I see one while out hunting other things. This year I plan on trying to actually go after a bear.Black bear identification test required in GMUs 101, 105, 108, 111, 113, 117, 203, 204, 209, 215, 418, 426. Pg. 70 of regsYou have to pass with an 80% or higher. I'm not a bear hunter, but I just took mine and passed it with no issues. You can find it when you sign into the WDFW wild system under Mandatory Species Identification Tests. Its just 10 questions and only takes a couple minutes.
I’m surprised we don’t have a coyote wolf one yet.
Last I checked they were requiring the test but took it offline, they must be updating the test?
