Non Typ, gets to grow another year
« on: July 06, 2018, 04:17:37 PM »
His normal side 5pt is much improved over the little short spindly 5pt he was last year as a 21/2 year old, then came his injury in Dec, and we have decided to give him a free pass to see where he goes next year. What say you?

I say great genetics and food! Nice job!  If he is safe, I let him slide. If there's competition, I give him a hard look especially deep in the season. Actually deep in the season I'm done looking :chuckle:

He would be hanging on the wall next spring if I was calling the shots!

I agree.  Let him walk.  He'll spread his genes around and sire future trophies in your area.   You've got at least one other masher there if I remember correctly (from the debate on which four-point to target last season).

If that ugly SOB walked by me during hunting season, he wouldn't be doing much more walking.

Perfect.  It makes it that much easier to let him ride.  If another hunter takes him, he/she will be thrilled and you'll still harvest one of your other trophy bucks.  If he lives through another season or two, all the better.  He keeps on spreading those genes.
