Got my moose tag and packet today.   :IBCOOL: No word on the elk permit.  :dunno:  Perhaps they don't send you anything special for something you already have a tag for.  I drew the muzzle loader elk tag for 636 Skokomish.

You will get a permit for any special permit you draw.  By law, you must carry the paper copy permit on your person.

I hear this year the permits come in a three ring binder and fifty pages of info that you are expected to carry on your person while hunting...

I went online and purchased the permit (second deer tag) the day after the draw and the paper tag arrived in the mail last week. Is there another way you guys do it?

For other permits, like buck deer, quality deer, antlerless, etc... you don't buy an additional tag, but instead you get a postcard sized "permit" in the mail that has your special hunt details on it. You're required to have it with you while you're hunting.

You still need the permit, since what you bought is the tag. The permit will have the season and GMU of the special hunt printed on it.

Did anyone find this years drawing a bit screwy? I'm trying to wrap my head around sending out thousands of emails to everyone who submitted an application, when only a small fraction were successful? Seemed like a waste of money and resources.
