Elk country in the summer, every month replace sd card with another 16gb card.

Where I am currently at, every week.

In the winter, I put them up after rifle season and don't check them till May.

We have 3 spypoints, 15.00 month unlimited transmission and photos, we have it set on 1 min delay and get 300-600 photos per cam per day.

I also have 10 cuddelinks out and check them weekly, waiting for new cuddiecell home base, then it will be all online. 5 of the cuddelink are local cams and I have one on my property, so I check it, and the transmit it daily.

Well I check them whenever its convenient and don't worry so much about disturbing an area.  I've check cameras as frequently as just a day or two and also let them sit for months.  Never noticed a difference between the amount of mature bucks I had on camera in relation to how often or seldom I visited an area. Some believe that frequenting an area can actually habituate deer to your presence and make them less skittish. I know some guys that even go as far as leaving a sweaty undershirt in their tree stand pre season.

All depends on time of year and what life allows, but a minimum week long soak outside of hunting season, then every other day if your pursuing a certain animal.

I get 9+ months out of good name brand alkaline batteries on my old Moultrie D-5 Cams.  I was shocked this June when I checked one that I set in September and it was still going strong after being buried in snow all winter and snapping 1k plus pics.
