Hells Canyon Jet Boat Tours
« on: July 06, 2018, 09:56:24 PM »
Have any of you done one of these trips? Was it worth it? Did you get to see lots of wildlife? Was it exciting in terms of whitewater, etc.? What company did you go with and would you go with them again?

Definitely top ten for me, overnight oversized sturgeon......highly recommend it. Catch bass all day, swim, see all kinds of wildlife and catch 9’ sturgeon! Oh yeah and go up and down whitewater rapids in a jet boat. Snake River Dancers, make sure Gabe is your Guide (if he’s still doing it). So much better than the tourist trip up and down the river.

Good deal! I will look into Snake River Dancers. I think the trip and scenery would be epic but catching oversize sturgeon would be the cherry on top! They are fun to do battle with!

Yes. It is hot. Poison Ivy is around and they will warn you. Spent the night in a cabin and it is hot. But it was fun.

Nothing like the river trips. Liable to get hooked into doing some of the overnight trips. Main fork and middle fork salmon , Selway, beautiful. Enjoy the journey.

Have done two day trips, both over 20 years ago.  The first was from Hells Canyon Dam down to Pittsburg Landing and back, definitely the most exciting for whitewater.  Can't remember the outfitter.  The second one was with Snake Dancer Excursions from Lewiston up and back, not all the way to the dam thou, did switch to a smaller boat to go above the ranch
museum on the Idaho side, can't remember the name.  Both were fun trips, and yes it was hot, but the water was cold.

Thanks for the info guys. I booked a tour trip with Snake Dancer for this summer with the wife. I will definitely be talking to them about a sturgeon , bass, trout trip with my buddies for next Spring/Early Summer.
