Lamar Valley at dawn and dusk for large animal viewing. Fire Hole River for swimming. Grand Prismatic for the most incredible view on the planet. Dunn Raven Pass (north side) for grizzly sighting.

The Yellowstone forums will also have some timely detail for wolf and grizzly sightings.

Mammoth always has elk hanging around "town."

We are going to be making a trip to Yellowstone. We have ordered books, maps, tour guides, etc. The major tourist things are covered. What things that are maybe not so well known would you dub "must see" at the park?

We also plan check out the Tetons and Jackson Hole so same question for that park too. Our time there will be limited as I only set aside one day for that adventure.
Good idea! We was going to make the same trip but we can't it's a pity for us. And Great adventure for you ;)
