First recurve and i need advice
« on: July 09, 2018, 12:54:05 PM »
I purchased my first recurve and would really like to spend about a hr with a experienced traditional archer to show me the basics so I don't develop bad habits and learn the right way etc... I live in the Elma area and would be willing to pay for someone's time, cash or maybe some elk intel and or meat...let me know fellas, thanks

not sure if your a Facebooker but there are 2 options.
Traditional Bowhunters of Washington, or there is a very active crowd on the Washington State Archery Associations FB group that can help hook you up with some one close by.

hope that helps
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

If you like to read, pick G Fred Asbells books on instinctive shooting. They will teach you the proper form.

Capitol City Bowmen in Rochester is a club reasonably near you.

http://capitolcitybowmen.org

The wsaa has a listing of pro shops all over the state and associated clubs with the state organization.

I’m no master bowman but I shoot some traditional.  I live in Oly. Shoot me a PM if you want, and we can arrange to get together.

Peewee ... try searching Youtube, you'll find just about anything you need to know about shooting a stickbow.

If I lived closer I'd offer to help you.  Good luck!

A good video and remebering that archery is all about consistant repetition will take you a long way. Just the smallest change in anchor, grip ect can cause a change.
