Sons first deer tail mount ideas?
« on: November 12, 2018, 10:49:31 AM »
My 9 year old son shot his first deer whitetail doe. My buddy has his first deer tail tanned on a plaque. I called a couple places on the west side and they don’t do such a thing. Anyone have an idea who does or if I should attempt doing it in my own?

Send it in for a hair on tan you can do it yourself but it will never be as soft as if you send it in and have it done. Still have mine from almost 25 years ago

How has the hair held up on your hide? I wanted to get mine done this year because it was a big buck I headshot so the hide was cherry but a friend said the hair breaks and makes a mess in short order. I would be bummed if that wasn't true.

Not true at all there is no smell at all my brothers first one was done this way also and there is no issues. This one was done in the late 90's and still looks perfect.
