Winthrop bird hunting

Going to head over to the Winthrop area to scout for deer in September. Is there any good bird shooting over there?

Plenty of grouse!

Good luck with finding deer but you should find good bird numbers

There’s also quail in the valley, not open in September though.

I know it wasn't too far out of Winthrop my dad took me chukar hunting when I was a kid. I didn't realize chukar hunting was just running up and down hills all day, I got a couple birds but I never asked to go again  :chuckle:

The place in Twisp I inherited from my uncle backs up to the Old Mill property and when I was a kid and the log decks were there we used to jump shoot chukars off the log decks and up on the hill behind the mill. Haven't seen any since the mill left.
