Sorry for the thread jack

From what I’ve heard and read the eldx will work as intended.
https://www.howlforwildlife.org/take_action  It takes 10 seconds and it’s free. To easy to make an excuse not to make your voice heard!!!!!!

They will be fine  :twocents:

6.5 Creedmore and the 140 ELD-X work FANTASTIC on coyotes. as long as you don't want to save the hide. I will let you know this fall how Bear like them

Do you mean the 140 ELD-M, or the 143 ELD-X? Different bullets, with different construction. There is no 6.5 140 ELD-X.

:yeah: and bear will fall to anything that a deer will  :twocents: just because they don't bleed onto the ground like a deer doesn't mean they are insanely tough
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I would beg to differ with you. Edit to add that I would beg to differ with you and be wrong  :dunno:

Now I really need to go look in my ammo stash and see what they heck I am shooting. I didn't shoot my 6.5 at coyotes last year so I haven't bought any ammo for it in a while. I wonder what It was I was shooting. It was definitely a coyote hammer. 2 inch exits if it even thought about touching bone.

That sounds like the A-max or ELD-M, since they're a more lightly jacketed target bullet, but I'd be interested to hear what it really was if you can figure it out. I haven't used many of the 140 ELD-M, but the 123 A-max/ELD-M acts like you describe; honestly they seem to act like a V-max but with higher b.c. for long range.

The ELD-X has performed well for me.  I used a 200 grain out of a 300WSM on my Wyoming Black Bear.  Complete pass through with a 1" exit at distance.  I will continue using this combo in the WSM.

After trying 3 different powders I couldn't get the 143 to shoot well in my 264WM so am sticking with Berger 140 VLD there.  I've had nothing but good outcomes from the 140 VLD.  Also using the 140 in the 6.5CM with good results on game.

A friend in Montana took several deer and antelope last fall with the 143 ELD-X and the 260REM.  Near and far, some real far, all one shot kills.

The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.

I just picked up a box of 145 grainers to try in my .270, with RL26 i think i may be able to hit 3100fps.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
