Hunting ranch near Wilson creek
« on: July 16, 2018, 09:18:26 PM »
A buddy was talking about a ranch in the beezly unit that he heard has some amazing deer.  Him and I both tried to find if they guide or not but we both came up blank.  Anyone know about this ranch or outfitter?

Buck Run is near and around Wilson Creek. They have a raffle for the buck hunts and antlerless is in the special permit section in the regs. Fairly healthy herd of deer they have there. Im sure there are lots of other ranches but that’s the only ranch that I’m aware of that has permits and raffles.
My interpretation of the rules are open to interpretation.
Once I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.

Buckrun is correct.  I think they do some raffle/draw hunts with the state so they can get tags to use for their guiding business.  If you are looking for a guided hunt, you could possibly contact them and purchase one of their tags the state gives them.  Im not sure about any of this but it is usually how it all works out.  I know it does for elk hunting Blackrock, Silverdollar, and Pine MT.

Buckrun ranch, area 201.  There is a permit raffle drawing that can be applied for but also believe you can outright purchase a tag if your pockets can afford it.  Some very solid deer in the area and the area 201 "program" has helped the surrounding deer herds dramatically, not my cup of tea but ill leave it at that to not derail your thread.  Id search for buckrun ranch on the forum and you will learn what you need to know.
