Western Washington Inland Salmon Fishing (River Reports)
« on: July 21, 2018, 02:50:59 PM »
Just wanted to get a thread going that we can keep each other posted on what rivers are holding fish and what experiences/luck you may have had.
Both from boat, or shore fishing.

Lots of us looking for a fishing opportunity to this year so let's help keep each other informed on who what's where?

Two weeks ago spent Saturday floating blue creek for steelhead. Was on the water at about 5am. Floated untill approx 3pm.  Lots of other anglers. No fish seen at all. Talked to the fish counter and the boat launch and she said only 2 fish were reported all day. Pretty surprised.
One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.

Fished Toledo to IFA and back last Sunday. 8a.m. to noon. 3 rods. Divers and coon shrimp. 1 bite at 11 landed a chrome 10 lbr. May try again tomorrow. I think steelhead runs will start improving a little next year.

You looking to target steelhead November is probably a better time to start your search.

It’d help if they didn’t feed all the fish to the birds and otters.

That's why I'm hoping next year will be better.

I believe they were. I would have to check to be sure. The ponds are empty now. I know that there was pretty intense hazing going on and a few birds shot while the smolts were in the pond. Sounded like it made a pretty big difference.

Went out to Humptulips Saturday morning. Took the drift boat down to the first bend then made camp, it was only 3am so we killed time and started a fire in the pouring rain. Whole day the water was boiling with kings, amazing thing to see.
Went home with my limit on kings, buddy and his dad both got one.

Great work. It is exciting to see rivers full of salmon. Can be ultra frustrating too  :chuckle:

Was planning on hitting the Hump this Saturday but looks like the water flow is dropping quick already.

Water level was already pretty low. With the twin we've been having you should be good to go.
