Goose prairie/bumping
« on: July 22, 2018, 01:55:26 PM »
I've got an Elk tag for Goose Prairie, and a multi season deer tag. I want to use deer season, all that I can, to learn the area better. If I can stick a deer, all the better. Does anyone know where the deer summer?  I have hunted Bumping in years past for elk and not seen many deer at all. I love hiking and getting back to the steep and deep, or up to the timber line, but any insight on narrowing the possible search area for a legal buck would be appreciated. Chasing a big buck would be even better.

Any theories as to why? Didn't the blue younge run through there years ago, or something else that wiped a bunch of deer out? I don't have high Hope's, but with that much ground, there's gotta be more bucks running around.

Its managed for elk and not deer, I believe there is an open late archery season in the Nile also that doesn't help at all
