no good fish and game no good
« on: July 25, 2018, 05:13:54 PM »
I am so disappointed in the next to zero opportunity to hunt archery elk this season. Where is our hunting season ? Why have they decided we cant have a season. Lost for words.

Open the regulations to page 49, read, comprehend, practice with your bow, go hunting.
I know I've lost it, let me know if you come across it

There is a season, a hiking season where you just pack your bow around. :chuckle:

if you live in or near 407 you’re in an any elk unit with a generous late season.

You are correct, and that any elk gmu, with a generous late season put out 4 elk last year.

That's 4 archery elk for the whole year, 72 days elk/kill.

Take harvest reports with a grain of salt. Cause how many people are dishonest with their reports. Plus 407 was only open tell December 15 last year for archery. As this year it’s open November 21 through January 20 for late season archery.  I’d say that’s pretty generous.

You could take it with a cup of salt and it wouldn't matter, elk harvest in Wa is piss poor.

Other than drawing you a map to x marks the spot, I dont know how to help you.   I just posted a beautiful bull from an any bull (heck it might be any elk) unit.    Just knowing he is out there along with several bigger should inspire you to hit the hills.

I had the colockum archery quality bull tag last year.  Saw a ton of bulls, it just didn't work out for one reason or another.  I wasn't alone.  I think half of the guys with the tag ate the tags.  I know of two other guys that had the tag and saw bulls as well but just didn't get it done.

You could always skip hunting this year, save your money, and hunt out of state next year. The rest of us who hunt WA appreciate fewer hunters during any season.

You know what did it for me?

There are more bulls shot north of Coeur d'Alene than the whole eastside of the cascades combined.

I don't know how many September's I will get to hunt so I am going to give myself the best odds I can.

Why is it so many feel the number of dishonest big game hunters in WA. lie on their harvest reporting?

Why if the W.D.F.W wants to increase ungulate populations in this state do they put units with very poor harvest rates in any elk or any deer hunts?

That's impossible wolves have decreased Idaho's elk population to a point where they are almost extinct.

And your wrong about the bull harvest.. but its close.

2017 was 1239 ID to 1283 WA... so I would agree northern Idaho is looking pretty good.

and total sarcasm about wolves but its what everyone and their mom is blaming for population declines.
