Ever try these...are they even legal?
« on: July 30, 2018, 10:58:43 AM »
DEEP WATER LED DROP LIGHTS
WATER Activated Deep Drop up to 3280 Feet
REUSABLE 350 Hours Lifespan (Approx 14 days)
HIGHLY VISIBLE (1 Flash per second)

Anyone had any luck in Fresh Water or Salt?
(I understand Green Light is the best at attracting bait which in turn will attract the predators.)

I used a smaller one for halibut fishing a couple years ago, got checked by a gamie and he just said cool and asked if it worked, I did just so happen to haul up a 100 plus pounder, not sure if it was the light, but anything g at800 ft can’t hurt if it gives off a little light. !!! Scent is the biggest attractant!!
my grandpa always said "if it aint broke dont fix it"

Yeah, I caught a Hali three years ago with one.  I also tried putting them in shrimp pots.  I would say 10% chance they attract fish and 90% chance they attract fishermen.

Amazon has good prices.

I've used the smaller ones that you thread on to your line. Caught one of my biggest hali's on it (55lbs) and several others. I prefer the red. Seems to get the most bites in deep water. I tried the style you have pictured and it failed right out of the package. I won't say that they are a must or anything but the red did seem to be effective.

Seems to me that they would be more effective in shallow waters. Bio-luminescent deep water species use color bursts to camouflage themselves against being seen against the surface light from predators below.

ghey...don't waste your money.
Friend: "Are you free tonight?"
Me:  (Gazing into the distance as a bald eagle screeches)  "I'm always free"
