Stevenson Land Company, Broughton Lumber Company, Western Pacific Timberlands, Hancock, , AFM, and Kreps Ranch are closing their lands until further notice because of the extreme fire danger.

Foresters and security staff.  Talked to one who is angry because people are taking down the signs.  He thinks bear hunters since they started disappearing on the 31st.  The norther area may be a little more open.  That will change.

I work for one of those companies. Haven't heard anything about closures. I'll check into it more this morning.

Don't know about the West Side, but I know that the East side, Klickitat/Yakima/Skamania county timber lands are closed to public access as the OP stated.  We both live here.
