Still plenty around South Hill, my buddies got a dandy living at his place. Still see good ones running around over here once in a while. They seem to like the ritzy gated communities

It shows what can happen if they are allowed to mature, too bad WDFW can't figure that out.

There are lots of Black tails like that out there.  Just have to pass on the little ones and look for the big ones.
I see the ocean shores bucks all the time and see many in the timber lands that make them look small.
From what I see there are a lot of bucks that die of old age because hunters expect them to be standing on the landing.
WDFW knows this and that is why they don't have point restrictions in most areas on Black tails.
Strange that some hunters fully understand this and consistently harvest mature bucks while others complain.
Than again there are a lot of us that think a spike taste just as good as a four point.

Bash me if you want.  At times I spend my entire work week in the woods.  I just can not put into words what I see.  There is more out there than you think.  I also deal with people up and down the coast the have cameras out.  Some of the pictures they show me just make me drool.  Out of respect for them I do not share.

There are far more hunters who consistently harvest big buck and bulls on the coast than most realize.  They don't post on here and seldom share pictures.  They just put the rack on the wall and meat in the freezer and start scouting for the next season.

Bottom line is if you want to harvest a big buck than quit complaining and learn to harvest one.  If you are not seeing them than you are doing something wrong.  Big black-tails don't come easy.  They do not grow old buy making mistakes!

I didn't specify blacktail, and more than a couple on here can attest that I pass immature animals.

well, they tend to do pretty well when they live in an area with no hunting, no predators, and get fed by the locals.

my wife's grandparents used to own a house out in ocean shores, the neighbors next door fed them on the porch.  was nothing to see a half dozen monster bucks just hanging out in their front yard, they'd just stare at you as you walked by 20 feet away.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

We used to hunt where the Safeway and movie theater are. Used to see huge bucks there daily. still see a lot over by Waller but i think the days of seeing them off meridian are gone.
