When I went scouting I was founding a bunch of cows so I’m hoping the bulls will come to them and not the other way around.
Just a quick heads up . . . Little Naches is not open for the early hunt in September unless you have a quality bull special permit for the area. It is open for the late hunt, Nov. 21 - Dec. 8. It can be a great area late if the elk are there! It just depends on the weather, hunting pressure, and when the elk have decided to migrate to their winter feeding areas (Oak Creek). I would suggest driving through the area and check out some of the logging roads between crow creek campground and ravens roost. You may not be able to drive all the way to ravens roost due to snow in the late hunt.
All I can say is hunting in September can be problematic if you get an animal on the ground and no help to pack it out. Try and line up some buddies to help pack if your successful.
