So, this just happened!
« on: August 19, 2018, 05:04:54 PM »
Today, August 19th, I was out on my deck and heard what I thought was a bull grunt down below a small ridge my house overlooks.  Just for the heck of it I cow called and he immediately returned with a series of grunts.  A few minutes later the cow came up with the bull hot on her tail, grunting like crazy.  Moments after the last pic was taken he bred her!  August 19!?  Huh?  I’m no moose expert but this seams awfully early?

:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Think I would clean out that fire pit and put some apples and maybe a salt block in there. :chuckle:

Leave the fire pit alone. Nothing like a nice fire for a little romance and some animal love!

And then they got married and had moose babies.  That’s how it happens, kids.

Awesome pics and thanks for sharing....

But, I can't look at those pics and give you a little nudge about defensible space.

Just a little trivia, Moose love charcoal. They will often eat and lick charcoal from a fresh firepit. I'm sure it has something to do with minerals but exactly what I don't know.
