Calling elk early

I do however agree that with the younger class of bulls, often times cow calls work better. With that said when i became more proficient with the bugle things got easier.

There is wisdom in Cryders words, though maybe a bit extreme, lol.   90% of you guys call too much, but keep doing it, because when I actually have trouble telling whether its real or not(usually not very often), its my next flag that its some dude.

and yes, shutting off the diesel and slamming the door prior to letting one rip is always fun entertainment.  I sometimes will answer just to keep things interesting and to keep the spirits up for some greenhorn.  They are sure to show up on here and report they are screaming.

I'm not an expert but the Born and Raised crew put on a clinic calling 100's of times a day and kill Rosie's in bunches.  I will be emulating their approach, since, you know, it works!

  YouTube stars bugle every minute and only kill monsters. So that's what I'm going to do!  bought a whole pile of all the popular calls, the biggest bugle tube I could find and mounted a hoochie mama on each hip. Havent practiced with any of them. But come opening morning the elk will come a running!

There have been a bunch of morons calling elk up in Vail since the end of July..  They post videos of elk running 100 mph away from them and at the same time say "that one will be in the freezer in a month".

The more elk per acre the more elk talk you will hear.

Me personally, I wanna hunt the elk that are responsive. So I'm going to cover alot of ground trying to find one who is. I'm not looking for a possibility of finding an elk, I want one who will talk back! The ones that are heated and a bit horny.

I am thinking about just calling from camp this year. That way I don't have to drive around and waste all that gas each day. plus cooler is handy at all times with drinks and snacks.
rough plan:
Wake up bugle like mad, get breakfast bugle and cow call. Take nap repeat with lunch. take nap repeat with dinner.
