Too many Grizzlies!
« on: August 27, 2018, 10:38:38 PM »
A friend just got this picture about 200 yards from his house.  He doesn't live back in the sticks at all either.  I've got them in multiple game cams in North Idaho and NE WA.   :bdid:

That's just a blackie with a back deformation!

Yikes.  200yds from the house is WAY too close for comfort for a grizz.  Is this photo from Idaho or WA?

Hope his house is built well, doors, and windows aren’t much of a challenge to them when something tasty is smelled inside.😉

Do you have a picture of the head and face.  Though it looks like it has a hump, it could also be a shoulder blade while it is walking.  The face looks very narrow and does not look like a concave face from what I see in this pic.  Not definitive but could just be a big blackie.....with a shoulder up.

What I lived in Alaska the neighbor had to replace the sliding glass door because a grizzly chased his dog through the house. Saw the dog through the glass and went after him. So yes they do come close to houses.

It's definitely a Grizzly.  Showed it to F&G and they agreed.

coming to your neighborhood soon.  The wolves steal from the cougars, the grizz from the wolves and all are happy to expand the process

Hey c'mon. I am in north Idaho right now looking for a place. Can you narrow it down a bit without giving anything away or should it be expected to find those suckers anywhere up here?

You smell what I'm shoveling...... :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:  Just a big blackie mr. game warden.  Look at the narrow face and no concave nose.  Just don't mail the bloody hide and noone will ask questions.  LOL

Joking of course, but if it was withing shooting distance of my deck it would be too close.  An obvious self defense situation with kids outside playing.

I 90 North is an easy line.  Id imagine there are some south of 90 in the panhandle.   There are a butt load up near Priest.

THey are fun to run into when you are packing nothing but a longbow.   Wolves don't bother me too much, but these guys come with a pucker factor.

It seems obvious to me, but this would be a good one to add to our little bear ID test here: https://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,229145.0.html
