Is this the road that turns to dirt that runs through the area where the new houses and cabins are along the river do you know? The road I'm talking about I think ends up back on the highway I believe. Sort of the main road through there.

That is cool, I think I might have tried to feed him something through the window.  Crazy how comfortable that bear was, almost like he was transplanted from the green river watershed.  I know a logger who worked in there years ago and he has picks of bears getting into the back of their trucks to get fed.

So. Knowing what we know now after viewing this video, would it be considered baiting to park a red truck in the woods and then sit off a distance and watch? Make sure you shoot before  or after the bear exits the vehicle, don't want to end up on a State Farm commercial.

About 20 years ago we had a big "blonde" black bear(thing dang near looked like a polar bear it was so blonde) terrorizing our deer camp in the Methow for 3 nights straight. The 1st night he got into all the ice chests, ate a bunch of bacon, eggs etc., bit into pop and beer cans and generally destroyed the coolers. We awoke to the "disturbance" to see him on his hind legs with his upper body stuffed into the passenger window(that was left rolled down)and tearing apart the inside of my partners truck while he was getting at bags of chips that were left in there. We got lights on him and spooked him out of camp, HUGE bear, guessing him at 250-275lbs. We went to town the next day to replace coolers and food that was lost during the raid. We hunted that day and a couple of the guys who had bear tags actually stayed in the area all day to see if they could get a tag on him, no sight or sound of him at all. That night he came into camp again, we awoke to what sounded like someone "going through stuff" in our camp. We got the spotlights on only to see him pawing at the 2 bucks we had hanging on our ridge pole :yike:, off he ran into the dark. We lost a little bit of food but we had secured a lot of it in the back of a truck with a canopy on it. The next day was spent by a few of the guys concentrating on this unique bear, they found some tracks and what looked to be where he would sleep(under a big deadfall) but still no sight or sound. The 3rd night we were woken up to him scratching on the canopy and the truck(about $800 in damage)to get to the food, soon as we yelled and hit him with the lights he took off like he was shot out of a cannon. We talked to a few folks we know and they had heard of this bear and in fact there was a couple guys who had been hunting him hard but could not get a clean shot at him and had only seen him twice, a local fella I know had seen him cross a dirt road at night while he was hauling some cattle out of the high country, the bear crossed the road and stood up on his hind legs, the packer friend of mine said he was about 7 feet tall when he stood up! I had heard that someone tagged him the next year, they weighed him at 291lbs but I have not seen a picture and have no proof but it was said he was as "blonde as one of Dolly,s wigs"
