What color phase do you call this one?
« on: August 31, 2018, 05:18:21 PM »
So I got this guy on my cam a few times. I normally only get blacks and don't have much color phase experience. What would ya call this one? Chocolate? Cinnamon?

That's a shooter bear, bud, that's what that is. Looks like a color phase for sure. Cinnamon would be a good guess! Go after him and let us know how it went.

Been after him as much as I can so far. I manage a couple days a week up there. Had him on camera in June and early July too but they were not the greatest pics. I really want that bear. Its the only non black one I have seen in the area. A couple days I have slowly picked my way through the whole area working into the wind and glassing some near by clear cuts. Another couple days I sat in my treestand overlooking the area the video was taken for a whole morning or so and tried some calling. The berries havent held them in this area as much so far this year. Have yet to find anywhere with steady sign. Last year by this time I couldnt walk 20 feet in that brushy stuff without stepping over a pile of bear crap.

Interesting! By the way the guy was lumbering around, he looks big. Had the walk of a bore would be my guess.

At least you have a few more months! I can't get into the woods until about the second week of October.

Keep me posted on the progress!

I’m going to disagree.  I think he’s actually a bit on the small side.  But he looks really pretty and it shouldn’t dissuade you from popping him!

Good luck!

:yeah: just the bear swagger step. Still shoot it though
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
