Made it out for a little morning shoot for a couple hours Saturday, hen was banded and hatched this year in Harrison, Idaho kind of weird migration to the west I thought.

Good time this morning with a good friend. Quite foggy but plenty of birds, some coming in like they were radar guided. Dog always looking for more.

Where the heck are the ducks? Glad you guys are having some luck. My pond has some water now but not a quacker one yet. No weather up north yet or what?

Was out yesterday for the first hunt of my season.  Ended up with a Mallard & Wigeon limit.  Had Snows, specs, honks and cacklers all over us.  I think they knew we couldn't shoot them because of the closure.  This little guy hung out in the decoys for quite a while.  Just looking around and feeding.  Cacklers aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

This was my first waterfowl hunt since losing my lab (Bella) in July to intestinal cancer.  I miss not having "my" pup out there with me.  I do have another one out of a litter born just before Thanksgiving that will be coming home with me after the first of the year.  Then the training begins.  By next fall she'll be in the blind with me learning the game...

After scrolling through all these pictures it makes me realize there’s quite a few guys better at pounding the waterfowl than i am! Good work everyone looks fun!

Ain't that a fact. We've had one sit in our pond during a mid week hunt for at least a half hour as we set up decoys around it. Nice hunt!

After two years of duck hunting finally had one of those days yesterday. Ducks were working to calls and decoying perfectly right down the open slot. My son home from college and a 4 man limit by 10am.

Got to do a little jump shooting with a buddy. Several more should have been in the bag but jumped while we were crossing a hotwire fence.
