2018/2019 Fur Season
« on: September 05, 2018, 10:10:45 AM »
Only two more months until the fur season begins. The coyote market is still looking good and I will be running routes all over Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon buying whole coyotes again this year.

Yes just shoot them, place in a bag and freeze solid. Watch for one of my fur routes to come into your area and I'll grade them and make an offer.

All of my regulars averaged $20 a piece on coyotes last year. Those in areas with pockets of better fur do even better. Starting out don't expect top dollar but after you have sold to me a couple times you will get a feel for what I am after and your averages will go up.

My routes are made based on customers. If the freezer is getting full I will plan a route for you and post it for others.

I'm in Pasco. I'll keep your number handy. I'd be happy to drop off anything we get. Normally dont start chasing yotes until after pheasants.

Coyotes are looking good and I'm starting the season a few days early. It is officially coyote (fur) season. Good luck & happy hunting!

Doug is a stand up guy and I’ve been takin coyotes to him for 3 seasons now. He also carries a lot of hunting gadgets and a awesome clothes line also. I’m goin to shoot coyotes so I figured I’ll take them to him and it usually covers my price off fuel or my reloading supplies.

Coyotes are case skinned for the fur market, gutting would ruin that

Another silly question, are head shots best?

Different buyers have different preferences. I shoot normally and sew up holes bigger than a 22 caliber entrance.

I don't like head shots but I will still take them. Head shots are very messy and I loose the value of the skull.

No need to skin. Just shoot, bag and freeze. If you decide to start skinning be aware of industry standards. It's alot if work and it can seriously hurt the value.
