1 and done
« on: September 05, 2018, 11:54:53 AM »
With a quality bull permit in my pocket it was a perfect year to get it done on day one.
The nephew tagged his 1st bear around 730am with an awesome double lung shot, it ran about 20 yards piled up, and rolled down the hill landing on the road.
About 90 minutes later I was on to a 4x4 with eye guards, 40 yard shot, broadside, punched the Thunderhead right thru both lungs, buck ran about 20 yards and piled up. What a great way to start the season!

On day 3 my nephew shot "Velveteen Buck" (He has been wanting a velvet buck for quite a few years now) a nice 3x3.
Now we can concentrate on getting a couple bulls to finish out. (hopefully utilizing the quality permit, fingers crossed)

Congrats!  Can't wait to hear about the elk hunt!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
