Question. Does the land owner there still buzz you with his plane? There used to be landowners who did not allow hunting on their property. Although they owned the properties, they had never set foot on them. Their ancestors purchased the land back in the 1800's.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

Short version is there were backdoor favors.
By the way the drawing for the 10 raffle tags is done at the WDFW office, I am fairly certain you have your info Wrong.

You don't count, because you shot a huge scam  buck.

On a serious note, great buck.

Another raffle buck.

So you won the raffle twice?
Yes, have bought raffle tickets every year and got lucky twice.

How money or how many tickets do you usually buy every year? It sounds like you have probably dropped a fair amount of coin over the years and the 2 tags you have pulled were deserved.
The best friend a guy could have asked for. RIP chasing pheasants in heaven Denali girl.

I tried to take photos in the neighborhood once. I was passing through on the public road and was harassed by several guys.  They were pretty much thugs.   I suppose they were lucky this thug wasn't that interested in the little buck I was watching or I guess it would have been a good ole fashioned red neck showdown.   Since then Buck run has had a black mark in my book.   I appreciate what they did for Jada.  I can appreciate the WSP harassing me for being parked off a public roadway, but not those A holes

I grew up in Wilson creek and I always find these buckrun topics fascinating.  :) I think there are equal parts about buckrun that are true and myths.

I miss the days before Buckrun.

Well my son drew youth doe tags in there twice. Killed a doe both times in one day. My dad drew a doe tag, filled it in one day and me and my uncle both drew 3 point or less tags when they did that for master hunters one year. I killed a small 3 point in one day, uncle killed a monster of a 3 point the next day. Never took more than the one day you get. That place is loaded with deer, you will see hundreds. Only downfall is getting the day you may want, but if you know that going in and have a flexible schedule, you will fill the tag, or at least you should.

I've never been there, but have heard the stories for years...the only thing I will say, is we need to remember, Buck Run owns the land NOT the deer...all wildlife belongs to the people of Washington. I have a heart burn when private land owners, regardless of who they are, either a timber company, stock holder group or a private "farmer" gets to dictate how/when/what when it comes to wildlife, and not just hunting but even viewing or photographing. Obviously it's their land, and trespassing is wrong, but if you are on public land/roads then they can pound sand when it comes to enjoying wildlife as they are not owned livestock...this is happened in Idaho as well with the Texas billionare brothers locking people out of public lands by blocking public roads that go across their property and sending thugs to harass those that try to access the public land via the public road...with today's technology it wouldn't take much to film (cellphone) one of these encounters and put it up on social media as well as take it to court...OK soap box over, I'll go back to my wilderness hiding hole and enjoy the views.

There are two chucks of game reserve land in buck run that you can access. great places to look at the deer in there. It does suck with the limited deer hunts in there with the amount of animals in there. Its all about how much you want to spend it seems like any more. I am fortunate enough to have met a land owner with thousands of acres on the snake river that lets me hunt his property. I spend one day a year doing work for him. That I don't mind but I wont pay to hunt private property.
