Charles & Mary Eder Unit Youth Hunt
« on: September 10, 2018, 04:00:45 PM »
Son drew youth tag and then got selected for the Eder Unit hunt.  Looking to get his 1st deer.  Heading over to do some scouting soon but I have a question for folks familiar with the area willing to help out.  Looking for a good place to set up a wall tent.  We have the option to take a trailer but the boy wants to tent it.  Anyone know of any good spots to camp (logging roads, etc..).  I see there's a camp ground in Oroville also that may be an option.  Any help would be appreciated!

Dawg... If you want to get out of Oroville, head up the road toward Chesaw, at the top of the grade take the Summit Lake Rd, couple miles until NF.  No campgrounds but lots & lots of spots to camp.  About 10-15 minutes from your hunting unit.  Best of luck to your son.

Thanks for the info. Really appreciate it! We’ll check it out on our scouting trip.

What hunt number is this?  :dunno:

Just curious.

1510 - youth. Heard they hand out 6 modern. Not sure if sons youth is one of the 6 or if they hand out extra youth tags.
