My son in law got it done yesterday. I wish I could have been there. It's his first elk ever.

Him and his Dad were tailing a herd but they couldn't catch up with it. So they backtracked and went around to cut them off. His Dad couldn't keep up so he ran along a creek bottom as fast as he could go. He jumped up on a log jam and 30 yds on the otherside was the herd moving/feeding through, he ducked down knocking an arrow, off to the left he could see horns coming he drew and double lunged him. He spun around took a step and fell over. He ran back to his Dad and fell at his feet, just a great adventure.

Any elk is nice for your first elk but that’s a very respectable WS rosie bull. Congrats to him! Any story?
