The first wolves were released under cover of darkness.

“It had to be a secret,” Rascσn said. No one else in the area wanted these wolves.

In November 2011, Mexican officials found the carcass of a Mexican gray wolf near a ranch in Sonora, poisoned and left to die.

A few weeks later, in December, officials found three more dead wolves, all poisoned, their skin showing similar lesions.

The first wolves that the USFWS put in as the "endangered" Mexican wolves were bred up using dog, in fact some of those dog/wolf hybrids had to be put down because of too much dog. That info. is posted here on H-W, probably in 2009.

Who knows what additional wolves have been thrown into the mix and called Mexican wolves. I trust the USFWS as much as I trust WDF&Wolves. Zero
