Antelope poaching issues. Please help!
« on: September 14, 2018, 01:54:33 PM »
Putting this up here to get the word out. There have been a rash of antelope near Yakima that have been poached. One was just found dead with the head removed. WDFW is on their way to look into it but I'm going to assume they won't find any tell tale evidence. There have been 7 killed, all in the same general area of Sellards Road. The Seattle/Puget Sound chapter of Safari Club International has a reward fund set up for information leading to conviction of antelope poachers in Washington state too.  If anyone hears anything, please contact WDFW with information.
Thank you.

More poachers out there than you think. Even the people that you think are great law abiding citizens are the ones to watch the most  :twocents:

Oregon St U. put out a study 15 years or so ago that found for every legal taken animal there is an illegally/poached animal taken. That shows you how much poaching activity there is, and how much we never see/hear/know about.

Welp.......
It looks like the specific antelope in the photo above was hit by a car.

Still having poaching issues, but this particular one was not poached. Still a loss.

 >:( :bash: sad to see that it was hit by a vehicle and worse to hear about the poaching of them. they need all the chances they can get to  survive, I saw my fist in Wa off of  Sellards rd this year and would really like to see more of them.

I know of a few that have been hit.  I haven't heard any talk of any being poached up there.  Odd place for poaching.
