Amazon has them.  I do like some of the newer MREs,  however I actually love some of the Mountain House meals.  Often times weight is a concern of mine so I rarely carry MREs when hiking in.

Biggest problem I've seen with MRE's is the size and the weight. This may not matter too much on a day hunt or a 1 night'er, but if you're packing for bigger trips, they're too big and too heavy. Pound for pound you can do a lot better calorie and protein wise with other stuff. There's more to it than just Mountain Houses.

Heaters??? I remember in the Marines they'd say you dont need a damn heater, you wanna get shot!!! Eat it and shut the f... up. :chuckle:

Why would a heater get you shot? :dunno:

Who knows, but I wasnt brave enough to question my drill instructor. :bdid:

He was probably a Vietnam veteran, and was thinking of MCIs (also called C-rats) they burned trioxane tablets to warm them. Small balls of C-4 plastic explosive were often used as well. In a pinch, the C-rat peanut butter could also be used, it burned like Sterno, LOL

MREs use a chemical reaction to water in the box to heat them
