Late turkey hunt question
« on: September 23, 2018, 08:47:06 PM »
I'm a bit confused about the late hunt.  I shot two Tom's in unit 121 this spring. Now what am I allowed on the late
hunt. 4 more, 2 of either sex?  2 more, hens only? Not sure how to interpret the regs. Called to ask but got put on hold for too long

You are allowed 2 beardless and 2 either sex for a total of 4 for the fall.

If you guys don't mind what are the odds of bagging a Turkey during modern firearm Deer season in the 101? I have only seen a couple on private land over the years and have covered a lot of ground Deer hunting. Just noticed a couple posts on here about fall Turkey and the fact it is general season and allows four birds, and it has me wondering if it is worth looking into?

I don't know about 101,, but 121 is full of birds. If you go down hwy 25 early in the morning or late afternoon you'll be hard pressed to not run over some. Shot a couple during the deer muzzleloader hunt and honestly could have easily shot several more.

Cool thanks! I have never shot a Turkey and have wanted to for quite some time but can never find the time to go after them. Would love to add a feather display to my collection of taxidermy. Guess I better dust off the 12 gauge and toss it in the truck when I head over for Deer in a couple weeks.

I didn't hunt this spring, I took my son-in-law out and he arrowed a nice tom. They are better  eating in the fall anyway. 1 more tag to go and I got my 4. Bacon rapped on the traeger grill.
