7mm 195 grain BC OF.754 Bergers. and 7mm rem mag holds quite a bit more powder than the .06 So quite a step up.
Holes kill animals. 30-06 in my book is anaemic, considering today’s high performance powders and high BC bullets. I would hands down run a .300 Win Mag any day over a 7mm Rem Mag. This comes from a guy that purchased a Rem700 BDL in 7Mag as my first self purchased rifle rifle at 15. I paid $450.00. I made $2.75 a hour back then.

All depends on the case a guy chooses to drive a .284 diameter bullet with. Factory rifle, factory throat, factory twist. .300 Win Mag.
