I was hoping there was some sort of quick attachment since o ise the spotter pretty often. I have an extra head shoe so was looking at modding one & keeping the other for my spotter.
Maybe i just need to get better at resting my rifle on the tripod head. Ive see some picatiny type adapters I may look at, but probably not enough time before opener.

buy a rail and attach to rifle. Buy a QDR and use it on your shoe plate. Takes 10 min to set it up and thread lock it. May have to grind bolt/stud head down a little, but its tiny compare to the hog saddle and triclaws. Is easier and faster to use as well.
I will say the tripod itself is your limit. If i use a good tripod, i can do well out to 1K. with a pack tripod, its maybe a 600 yard set up at best.
