Doubling camera count: Recommendations?
« on: September 27, 2018, 01:36:00 PM »
New hunter here,

I am not experienced at hunting but I've had a lot of luck on my camera placement so it's turned into a pretty enjoyable hobby for me, year round. I have 6 cameras now, four Apeman 12MP and two cheapos. I am looking to double my camera count for next season and I am curious about finding a nice blend between cost and value. I don't want the cheapest thing on the shelf but I also don't want to overspend, for a variety of reasons.

What are you using? Should I just stick with this?

Edit:
I found this on lightning deal on Amazon for $50 down from $70 and bought one, then had 3 friends buy me one on their accounts so I got 4 out of it.

I think there's a lot of value in standardization, especially with so many cameras in the stable.

That said, I've had great results with the Bushnell Essential series (E2 and E3) cameras.  They're typically a little north of $100 but you can find deals for $70-80.
"master" hunter - still a noob.

Yeah I agree entirely. I have 3 kinds right now but the third kind I only have two of and they're older generation that I could easily roll off and not feel bad about it. 8 is still a good camera count.
