Do any of you guys run different insoles other than what comes with your boots?

well then, I guess I am the outcast here.  :o  I am thinking/hoping that a little heel support would be the finishing touch on my new boots

Lots of guys like the lathrop and sons insoles.  I wasnt really blown away with them so I went back to my tried and true super feet.

Nice. Used Green's for a few pair and then switched to Orange's after. Been a few years since I've used any after markets, but feeling the urge again. I was thinking something new would be out there, but it looks about the same.

I know its doubtful that a few day period could change something like my arch but I honestly feel like my idaho bull packout last year put enough strain on my feet that it changed them.  I had to pull my greens out of my scarpas because they were putting a lot of pressure on my arches.  Tossed in the stock ones out of desperation and it elevated the issue but then they kind of sucked for everything else.  Need a new insert that is a bit flatter but still has the heal support.

Side note, yes a DT1 will fit half a boned out bull.  No you should not do it.  DO NOT take the "shortcut" back to the truck :chuckle:

I have high arches, but have learned that good foot and ankle support works better for me than high arch foot soles. I use lathrop and sons foot soles both red and green color in my hunting/ hiking boots and worn out shoes.

I use the superfeet hunter insoles and really like them. Used blue in the past but they used to have ridges on the bottom that would eventually cut into the bottom of your boots. Tried the cabelas cork ones and they were comfortable but took up too much volume.

New La sportiva karakorums showed up yesterday.  Have a pair of Lasportiva trango cube gtx showing up Tuesday. Boot arsenal is on point this year.  Really interested to see how the trango fit and function.  Anyone have experience with them?

I've had the Karakorum for probably 8 or 9 years now. Great pair of boots. They took a while to break in the heel, but they've been rock solid since. They climb well, support the heavy load on your back, etc. In the past, they've been a bit more roomy than the Trango styles as they are more of a "trekking" boot than a "climbing" boot.

I just picked up a pair of Redhead 6” trackers ant put them through heir paces this weekend. I don’t do any backcountry hunting, but took these up to the mountains and some pheasant release sites this weekend and am pleasantly surprised by their performance.

They’re light and comfortable and have good traction.

I can also confirm that the Goretex and waterproofing works wonders. Misjudged the width of a channel and landed with my right leg in the channel up to my knee. :yikes: Only a little water got in and my foot was dry again soon after.

They were on sale for $80 at Cabelas last weekend.
