Cougar Harvest!
« on: October 02, 2018, 01:25:19 PM »
After a rough start to the 2018 season (4 weekends of no luck hunting black bear in August), I'm rekindling my fire by looking through last year's successes! Had the fortune to harvest this ~200 pound cougar last year. Hoping for this year to turn around for deer/elk! Share your harvest photos here :)

Nice work! I'd like to see a few more of these killers on the ground.

Wow!! Spectacular tom. I'm continuously amazed at the level of game hunting we have here in Washington.

I had a first opportunity at a cougar last year but just needed a split second more to make it happen!  Great cats saved a few deer with those kills

the level of game we have in this state isn’t  all that great but if you work hard and make opportunity it can be very good!

I've lived in Arizona and Texas previously, and the quality of public hunting is what really astounds me in WA. For example, in AZ, you do not have much opportunity for over the counter tags, as elk, mule deer, etc. are lottery and take many points to win. Texas, there's limited public land, so you're limited to high fence ranches, which are extremely expensive.

Both great cats! After having deer on our place (small resident herd of mule deer) for 30 years got several cougar pics three years ago and have seen only a very few singles since. Dead cats are great cats!
